Last updated 1st October 2024
It’s worth noting that being listed here doesn’t mean I have exhaustively read/watched/listened to everything these sources have online. Nor does it even mean I agree with them on everything. But it does mean I think they have a good intent and I found many of their resources useful.
Science Online Resources:
Science Edutainment Videos
These tend to focus on cool and lesser-known topics and experiments, but not so much the core concepts. They’re great fun!
- Smarter Every Day
- Veritasium
- Physics Girl
- Scishow
- Vsauce – which covers Science but also other topics eg philosophy and psychology.
Science Concepts Teaching Resources
These make an effort to work through topics in order, and will cover core concepts and not just novelties:
- Khan Academy – lots of subjects, a non-profit trying to provide free online education for the world.
- Experiment Archive – lots of amazing Science experiments you can try yourself, with example videos and explanations.
- PBS Space Time
- Crash Course
- Derek Owens
- Eugene Khyutoransky
Exam-Linked Science Teaching Resources
These are designed to provide teaching and revision resources for a particular exam you may be taking. They are systematic and thorough:
- Physics and Maths Tutor – exam questions, notes, definitions, videos covering many subjects not just physics and maths.
- ChemGuide – fantastic resource with really careful explanations of chemistry topics for both GCSE and chemistry. The author tends to mention subtle nuances that other resources gloss over so I find the explanations here very helpful.
- Free Science Lessons – lots of explanation videos going through specific points for your exams, and many other online resources.
Christianity Online Resources:
I’m just leaving these in one big category:
- Bible.com – a free Bible website and app. After all, ‘Christianity’ means to follow and emulate Christ, so this is where you find the scriptures he believed in and the teachings he gave.
- The Bible Project – explaining the Biblical documents in their historical contexts and how they fit together as a diverse but unified whole.
- CS Lewis Doodles – this link is to the ‘Mere Christianity’ episodes based on his broadcast radio series.
- The Chosen – Amazing ‘based on a true story’ life of Jesus TV series. Watch for free, donate to their crowdfund only if you want.
- Bible Thinker – teaching by Mike Winger
- Reasonable Faith – Philosophy and Theology
- Crossway Podcasts
- Cold case Christianity
- Stand to Reason
- GotQuestions.org – A Christian Q&A website.
- Grace to You – teaching by John MacArthur. I disagree with him on about two issues, but in general his teaching is excellent and he is a faithful minister.
